Here is a question that we've all asked ourselves, either in secret or out loud: Can I really make a living as a theatre artist? And many a parent has asked the question: What do students of RSA actually do when they graduate?
Between 2002 to 2007, 80% of graduates with an F.R.S.A. (Fellow of Rosebud School of the Arts, our highest credential) found employment in the theatre or a position that demanded a theatre background (the other 20% pursued a different direction in their life). Even last year’s graduates are getting audition calls from agents and artistic directors and are beginning to make their mark.

Some Examples
There are a variety of exciting professions open to trained & passionate theatre artists. Here is a sample of a few of our graduates who are currently working in the field:
- Karl has started his own theatre company in Medicine Hat and employs emerging artists including Rosebud grads.
- Dale is a designer who works in professional theatres in Vancouver and Chemainus in addition to Rosebud.
- Lyf is an actor-in-residence at Sanctuary Ministry in Toronto. He uses theatre and drama as an outreach tool to people living on the streets.
- Adam is an actor based in Vancouver. He recently acted in the show Having Hope at Home at the Chemainus Theatre Festival.
- Julie apprenticed in stage management with the Citadel Theatre and found work with the Canadian Badlands Passion Play in Drumheller.
- Karli performs with Lake City Theatre Company in Minneapolis, MN.
- Gio tours with Trickster Theatre and Evergreen Theatre in Calgary.
And there are many more. In our opinion: anyone who makes a go of it in theatre is a success. Even more important: anyone who has dared to speak their dream and found the One who grants us the desires of our heart, is worth celebrating.
Come join us on the adventure of discovering your gifts and your purpose as an artist and human being.
